I swear, smoothie bowls offer all the elements to encourage us to eat healthy: Bright colours, superb presentation, delicious in flavour and it doesn’t hurt that they look incredible on our Instas as well! All the more reason to incorporate these yummy treats into our diet! So here are 12 Smoothie Spots in KL that will satisfy your cravings for this delectable drink, absent the guilty aftermath of calorie surplus.

Smoothie Spots in KL #1: Açaí Lab, Solaris

Recharge yourself with superberry powers as you savour the ambrosial delights the açaí smoothies Açaí Lab has to offer. The first ever authentic açaí smoothie bar around KL, its founders, upon returning from a visit to Rio felt the need to replicate Brazil’s bread and butter berry offerings right here on the streets of KL. This nutritional heavyweight champion of a berry carries more than twice the amount of antioxidants than that of blueberries, and ten times that of grapes. Great for heart health, muscle performance and energy production, what with its robust dose of anthocyanin antioxidants, amino acids, protein, calcium, fibre, omega fats and vitamins. Importing these Brazilian açaí berries frozen and mashing them into pulp, this açaí smoothie is as authentic as it gets. My favourite was the Rio Bowl. A harmonious blend of sour açaí pulp, sweet bananas and zesty apple juice. Refreshing and mouth-watering, it’s creamy texture, mild natural sweetness and crunchy homemade granola drew us into açaí heaven bite after delicious bite. Honestly, healthy eating doesn’t get better than this!

Price Range: RM 10 – RM22

Smoothie Spots in KL #2: Cabana Açaí, Publika

Cabana Açaí is the only other authentic açaí smoothie bar in KL as of now. When I say authentic, I’m talking about their use of frozen açaí pulp, as opposed to the masses who use açaí powder to flavour. The use of the berry’s actual pulp gives their açaí creations that perfect thick and creamy texture along with its gorgeous maroon shade. Cabana Açaí’s distinct açaí base resembles a refreshing, tropical blend of berry, creamy banana and intoxicating red wine. Usually accompanied by yummy, crunchy granola, super seeds and fresh fruit toppings, this low-calorie, nutrient loaded, luscious smoothie is a real treat indeed.

This bowl, packs quite a punch making it an excellent healthy and satisfying meal replacement option. The Tropical Passion, harnessed the delectable taste of mango along with its glorious colour and nutritional benefits to create an impeccable masterpiece. This rustic, cement-walled, spacious café filled with quaint wooden furniture besets an atmosphere that one would enjoy with coffee and a good book.
